Residential Lighting Wins FOLIO: 2016 Eddie Award for Overall Social Media Excellence

Arlington Heights, IL (November 15, 2016) — Scranton Gillette Communications’ Residential Lighting was named the FOLIO: 2016 Eddie Award winner in the B-to-B Overall Use of Social Media category. The Eddie Award recognizes excellence in journalism across multiple platforms and the award is the third social media distinction for Residential Lighting in 2016.

Earlier in the year, Residential Lighting received a Silver Tabbie Award in the Social Media category from the Trade Association of Business Publications International (TABPI) and a 2016 Silver Azbee Award in the Social Media Presence category in the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) competition. Residential Lighting also was named to TABPI’s “The Big 95” list of most-acclaimed B-to-B publications in 2016. 

“It has certainly been a record-breaking year for Residential Lighting’s social media efforts,” says Editor-in-Chief Nicole Bowling. “I can’t think of a better note for Residential Lighting’s swan song. We’ll certainly continue the extensive social media platform with its successor, Lighting & Decor.” 

After a 20-year run, Residential Lighting will cease publishing with the December 2016 issue. To satisfy the trend of lighting showrooms increasingly adding home decor items to their inventory, Publisher Diane Vojcanin is debuting Lighting & Decor magazine in January as a one-stop lighting and home decor resource for industry buyers. The new monthly publication will be distributed throughout the Atlanta, Dallas and Las Vegas markets, and mail in print and digitally to 40,000 recipients. Its eNewsletters and website,, also will launch in January.
