Lighting & Decor Magazine Makes Successful Debut at January 2017 Markets

Arlington Heights, IL (February 24, 2017) — Scranton Gillette Communications went to market in January with its new initiative, Lighting & Decor magazine, delivering trends, news and products to both lighting and home decor professionals. Lighting & Decor was introduced at the International Gift & Home Furnishings Market at AmericasMart in Atlanta with a launch party that jointly celebrated Lighting & Decor’s debut and the 60th anniversary of AmericasMart.

Show attendees gathered at the Lighting & Decor Lounge on the 5th floor of Building 1 on the opening night of Market Week to enjoy cocktails and networking, to meet the staff of Lighting & Decor and to explore the first issue. Open every day as a restful oasis for retailers and designers, the Lighting & Decor Lounge, in partnership with AmericasMart, served up lunch and a schedule of educational sessions hosted by Editor-in-Chief Nicole Bowling. Bowling interviewed multiple experts on such topics as color forecast, professional trend spotting, and taking business endeavors to the next level. 

In a continuing partnership with AmericasMart, whose team built the Lounge, the Lighting & Decor staff is currently planning activities for the Lounge during the July Market at AmericasMart. The team also attended and distributed the debut issue of Lighting & Decor during Lightovation at the Dallas Market and at the Las Vegas Market, both also in January.

January also saw the launch of In addition to housing an archive of the monthly issues, the website offers exclusive content, product galleries, and industry news. An exclusive feature allows viewers to select their favorite pieces and create their own Idea Board.
